Ivory agreed with Ford’s assessment, even if he wasn’t happy in

inquired.

“I did, but they refused to answer,” Ford replied. “They’re

professionals. I gather that they still believe their friends will bail them out. Of course, I couldn’t tell them they were mistaken.”

Doc glanced at Ivory and, for the first time, spoke. “We believe it

to have been your uncle, Ivory. He’s the one who had an interest in

destroying the clinic. It seemed that they meant to burn down only the medical facility, not the house which your uncle intended to buy and use. The historical value of the house would have been damaged in a

fire, even if it was later renovated.”

It made so much sense, and it sounded just like something Bill

would do. Ivory cursed under his breath. “He won’t stop, though.

He’s far too persistent to be discouraged after one failure.”

“We need to get Wallace down here,” Will suggested, reminding

Ivory of his presence. “He can look into the situation a bit more. The guy must have left some traces if he hired these professional

saboteurs.”

“Agreed. We’ll do that as soon as we deal with the police. Oh, and

remember, they don’t know about the lab and the research we do in

there.”

“I said I was up reading some patient files,” Doc explained. “You

must have seen them come in and knocked those three out. Then, you

were mildly injured, and Colt and Garrett made their appearance,

causing the remaining two to flee.”
